Bronx River Addition
In April 2024, Bronx River Addition residents voted for the Trust! Bronx River Addition, located in the Soundview neighborhood in the Bronx, was the second NYCHA development to vote to become a Public Housing Preservation Trust site. 122 residents voted, representing 61% of heads of households. Their voices were heard, and they had ownership in shaping the future of their homes - now let’s get to work!
Resident Partnerships
The Trust plans on collaborating with residents and stakeholders throughout the duration of the project to ensure that resident voices are heard and included. We want residents to be active collaborators in the various processes like design to vendor selection. The Trust and NYCHA will host meetings near Bronx River Addition to inform residents and other stakeholders of the project process.

Bronx River Addition Resident Information
The Resident Priorities Report outlines the Bronx River Addition community’s key priorities for the Trust Mod renovation project — addressing everything from desired improvements to the logistics of temporary relocations. This report will be included in the procurement package for shortlisted design and construction firms, serving as a guiding document to shape their proposals.

The Resident Information Notice (RIN) outlines Trust’s and NYCHA’s intention to convert Bronx River Addition to Project-Based Section 8 under the federal Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program. This allows the Trust to access funding to fully modernize Bronx River Addition while NYCHA remains the property manager. Additionally, NYCHA will provide enhanced property management, security, and social services. In the RIN, it details the rights residents will maintain under this program.

The Trust and NYCHA began resident outreach activities in May 2024! All previous meetings and activities will be listed here with all presentations/handouts. All meetings at Bronx River Addition are held in-person.

The Trust opened its Bronx River Addition engagement office on June 12th for residents! This event had live music and ice cream for residents.

On July 26, 2025, the Trust celebrated Family Day at Bronx River Addition with residents, neighbors, and community partners, coming together to share project updates and enjoy an afternoon of activities and connection.

On November 6, 2025, NYCHA and the Trust recently held an in-person and virtual meetings to talk about the planned renovations for the Bronx River Addition. The Bronx River Addition Design-Build team, Fifth Avenue Builders, led the session and shared updates on the renovation timeline and next steps for the project.
